Poland, 2006 - If there is one name that is known to generations of AIESEC members in Mexico, it is Jose Luis Canales.

He is one of the founding members of AIESEC Mexico (1964) and chaired the International Presidents Meeting when it was hosted by Mexico in 1968. Today he serves on the Board of Advisors, has been inducted into the National Hall of Fame and is considered as one of the Honorary Members of AIESEC Mexico.

Not satisfied with only representing his country at international AIESEC conferences, Jose Luis later represented Mexico in negotiations with the World Bank as head of the treasury in Estado de Mexico.

During this time he was also the chairman of CFF, a French Steel Recycling organization, contributing to the protection of the environment.

The rest of his professional career is highlighted by a variety of senior roles in diverse sectors - Professor in Finance, Director General of Barra Latino, the Chairman of Olympia Werke and Chairman of Cominsa Consulting in Mexico.

Jose Luis considers AIESEC the foundation for and the first step on the path to success and demonstrates his commitment to AIESEC through his ongoing support of the Local Committee he founded and the Member Committee of AIESEC Mexico. Apart from offering them his advice and guidance, his extensive knowledge and network of contacts in various sectors has enabled the creation of numerous partnerships for AIESEC Mexico. He has also been a mentor to a number of Member Committee Presidents and has supported their attendance of international conferences.

We are proud to induct Jose Luis Canales into the AIESEC Alumni Hall of Fame, as a role model and an inspiration to our members and as a prime example of the impact that AIESEC has on the world through the individuals it develops.
