- Phil Oduor,
President, AIESEC Kenya

Turkey, 2007 - The kind of challenges that passionate AIESEC members are confronted with are real and life preparing experiences that mark individuals as the change agents they become. During his time in AIESEC in Kenya, Kent Libiso sought to improve the chances for his fellow Local Committee members to find AIESEC internships abroad by organizing local internships that would improve their skills. When heading AIESEC in Kenya, he managed impressive exchange growth, a trend he took to the entire region during his tenure as AIESEC International Director of Africa just shortly after. It was during these years that the issue of apartheid proved a heavy strain for AIESEC globally and needed consistent leadership. After these active leadership experiences, Kent went on an internship in the Netherlands to develop his competencies further and seek a new challenge.

As an alumnus, Kent spent 17 years in Finland, where he worked as senior consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers – working on cases such as turning around state corporations in Zambia, the development of capacities of SMEs in Namibia, and financial advisory services in Zimbabwe.

Today, Kent supports AIESEC in Kenya in just about every possible way. He supports member committee by funding ights for international meetings and facilitates mentorship and training on leadership to members of local committees. In support of exchange, Kent not only facilitated work permits for interns through his contacts, he also hosts AIESEC interns at his residence.

His influence extends not only to AIESEC but he is also is a member of the board of one of the most outstanding schools in Kenya, as part of which he set up a substantial endowment fund to finance scholarships for gifted children who could otherwise not afford to attend the school. Kent keeps on transforming the challenges he experienced in AIESEC to make changes in the world.
